Week 2
9:33 AM Edit This 0 Comments »During the second week of learning the Teaching the Language of Drama, I found that it is very interesting and fun to learn even though I am never being exposed to this subject before this. I’m really excited to learn more about this course and experiencing the beautifulness of the drama entirely. As an introduction to this course, I get to know the history of theater, which consists of 3 type of theatre which is the Greek Theatre, Roman Theatre and Medieval Theatre. Furthermore, each theatre also has their own genres, such as tragedy, comedy, tragicomedy, farce and more. Then, we also had been exposed to the conventions of theatre (the text, acts, scenes, stage directions etc.). Besides that, we also get to know more about the stage characters, turns in dramatic conversation such as proposing (initiating), building (supporting), disagreeing (challenging) and else. Lastly, we also learn how to judge a good play, which included several characters for instance a good play should make the audiences think, refresh our mind of something, shows organization in the development of the plot, concerning about human experiences and many more. All this information is presented in a nice slide show presentation and makes it easy to read and is well organized.
